Identifying The Cause For Infectious Diseases

Conventional and molecular medical microbiology is crucial for tests that can quickly identify the causative agents for many infectious diseases. At Agam Diagnostics, we adopt tests such as isolation in culture media, detection of antibodies and microscopy to confirm the presence of various pathogens, fungi, viruses, and bacteria.
Our diagnostic centre offers a wide spectrum of clinical tests, immunoassays, culture techniques, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing to identify and categorise pathogens for focussed treatment. Our lab is compliant with all regulations and on par with international standards with state-of-the-art equipment to augment therapeutic processes against infectious diseases.

Our Microbiology Diagnostic Procedures

At Agam Diagnostics, all tests and microbiology procedures are handled by well-trained lab experts under highly controlled conditions. The process is as follows:
The required sample is collected from the person in a clear and clean container. The samples may be urine, blood, sputum, or pus.
After 24 hours of incubation of bacteria and yeast, an isolated fresh culture is obtained.
The process's panel is chosen as per the doctor’s prescription or the person’s choice ( Identification, AST and ID/AST).
A detailed report is delivered in a span of 2 or 3 days.

Bacteriology
All our bacteriology tests are based on the latest CLSI, EUCAST, and BSAC standards to derive highly precise and reliable results. Samples such as blood, urine, sputum, and bodily fluids are subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility testing by MIC or Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion methods.
Mycobacteriology
We adopt the latest CLSI standards to test samples like skin scrapings, nail clippings, strands of hair, blood, urine, stool, pus, CSF, and body fluids to identify miscellaneous yeast dermatophytes and fungal infections with MIC antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
Mycology
Samples of sputum, tracheal aspirate, FNAC lymph node, body tissues, and mycobacterial cultures are tested for drug sensitivity for primary and secondary line of ATT. Our lab adopts WHO and RNTCP references for mycology testing.
Parasitology
To identify parasites, we implement microscopy, immunoassays, rapid immunochromatographic assays to test blood, stool, urine, etc.
